COUNCIL MEMBER.This aristocratic position can only be attained through purchase or as prize for an onsite competition. Limited seats are available, and open at the death of a previous member, or with the augmentation of the populace. Council members lead the monarchies. They have control over the laws passed over their monarchy, and their citizens. They primarily interact with the baron class, granting them land and rights in exchange for quantities of nobles to be used for military purposes. They are also interested in the identification of Narcomancers.
BARON. This upper class position can be attained only through purchase. The baron class is only subservient to members of the monarchical council, to whom they are employed. Barons are responsible for the recruitment of nobles to whom they offer residence on their estate, granted to them by the council. These nobles are then turned over to the monarchy through the baron class. Barons may also be specifically employed to be a sort of bounty hunter looking for Narcomancers for a monarchy.
NOBLE. This middle class position can be attained only through purchase. Nobles interact primarily with their lords, the Baron class, and their servants, the Serf class. Nobles will often seek out barons to have stability upon an estate. In exchange for this stability, they serve as oppressors of the lower class, helping to maintain order and the observance of laws in the monarchy.
SERF. This lower class position in the default class for characters. Characters may jump classes through the purchase of a class advancement. Serfs are bound to those of a higher class. They are subjugated by the class of nobles, who enslave them for labor purposes and other outlets. In exchange nobles may allow serfs certain freedoms, residence on land, etc.
VAGRANTS. This position falls outside of the class system, and do not require purchase. Vagrants live either within a faction, or as completely independent individuals. This is usually due to having beliefs opposite of the monarchies.
NARCOMANCERS. This is an additional class position that is highly coveted by the monarchies. These positions can be attained only through purchase or as prize for an onsite competition. These characters have the ability to elicit information from others who are asleep, an ability that, since its discovery, is revolutionary for interrogation during wartime. The ability can be determined prenatally, but can also be taught to others. Narcomancers generally live in secret after copious cases of maltreatment by the monarchies, but have also been known to come to employment terms with monarchies.
